I have a beauty of an ebook called ‘Transform Your Life In 8 Weeks’ that I’ve been using with my lovely coaching clients recently. You can grab your copy here. We work together to transform their lives by creating new habits. It’s not an overnight process, and sometimes (a lot of the time actually!), it takes a lot longer than 8 weeks. You see, we didn’t get to a place of self-loathing, stress, anxiety and depression overnight. We didn’t wake up one morning suddenly hating ourselves and our lives. Slowly, but surely, we wound up in this place. Our thoughts, actions and beliefs over the past 10 or so years got us here. We have to change our way of thinking. We have to create new habits. We have to totally transform our lives. Lifestyle transformations don’t happen overnight. They are not easy. But my goodness they are worth it.
The first thing I work on with my clients is a morning routine. This routine doesn’t have to be followed every single morning. I know we don’t live in a perfect world and it’s pointless to place unrealistic expectations upon yourself. If you can dedicate a couple of mornings each week to following this routine (or a similar routine) I promise you’ll start to notice the benefits after a couple of weeks. These are the 7 steps I took to transform my morning routine.
Drink filtered water with fresh lemon juice upon rising – this will stimulate my digestive system and get me ready for the day ahead.
Meditate every day – I will listen to my body. My body need stillness and quiet.
Walk barefoot and connect with the earth – I will live with this earth, not on it.
Move every day – I will aim to break a sweat and move my arms and legs in a way that feels natural. I will not punish my body or put it under physical stress.
Be present – it’s the only moment I can control. It’s not my place to dwell on the past or stress about the future.
Get 15 minutes of sun every day – vitamin D is essential for my body.
Surround myself with nature – the healing power of nature does wonders for my body.
Tip: This may seem like a lot of changes but remember, some of them can be easily combined to create a brand new morning routine. For example, if you wake up when the sun rises and drink a big glass of filtered water with fresh lemon juice and then go for a barefoot run in the park or beach whilst concentrating on your breath you will achieve all of the transformations!
