Positive affirmations are a massive non-negotiable for me. I’ve finally realised that even if you drink 10 green smoothies a day, if your mind/spirit is not supported, no amount of health food is going to transform you into a healthy happy wellness warrior.
You see, the body hears what the mind says and we create our own reality from this. If we constantly tell ourselves that we aren’t good enough or that we don’t deserve the best, we’ll never achieve our goals, we’ll never be truly happy and we’ll never be the best version of ourselves. I now understand the power of positivity. Every single day I repeat, ‘I love and accept myself no matter what’. You can read more about this affirmation from the Wellness Warrior, Jess Ainscough here.
When in doubt, these are the quotes that get me back on the right track (maybe they might resonate with you too!):
The only limits in life and the ones you place on yourself.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.
To live is the rarest thing in the world, most people exist, that is all.
Your past is just a story and once you realise this, it has no power over you.
Never give up on a dream just because of the time it takes to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.
Cherish your body, it’s yours to keep forever.
There is no diet that will do what healthy eating does. Skip the diet. Just eat healthy.
The food you eat can either be the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.
Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson and Albert Einstein.
If it came from a plant, eat it. If it was made in a plant, don’t.
When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. When diet is correct, medicine is of no need.
Break the bad habits and make better ones.
The groundwork for all happiness is health.
Counting calories becomes completely unnecessary when your food doesn’t come with labels.
