Choc Mousse


A few weeks ago I shared my Choc Berry Mousse Tart recipe here. It was delicious and so addictive that I ate it for breakfast. Over the weekend I came up with another delicious and healthy choc mousse recipe!! Unlike the Choc Berry Mousse Tart, the base of this recipe isn’t avocado, it’s almond milk and chia seeds. Yum!! So if the avo put you off making my Choc Berry Mousse Tart (it shouldn’t have – you can’t taste it at all), then this is the mousse recipe for you. Enjoy.


1 cup almond milk (make your own almond milk here) or your preferred milk

4 tablespoons chia seeds

1 tablespoon raw cacao powder

Honey to taste (depending on how sweet you like it) or your preferred sweetener


Place all ingredients into your blender and process until all ingredients are combined. The chia seeds need to break down and absorb as much liquid as possible to form a mousse-like consistency. This mousse gets even thicker if you cool it in the fridge for a few hours or overnight. Serve topped with raw cacao nibs.

  1. I’m going to try this for dessert tonight! It never occurred to me that you could make healthy choc mousse from a base of anything but avocado. Thanks for the suggestion :)
