You guys are in for a treat today! I’m introducing you to two raw dessert queens. Just last year Candi and Tam started their raw dessert business, Nutri Hitt and a few months later their delicious treats were stocked at my local café, Glass Coffee. I immediately fell in love with their desserts and had to introduce them to you. Meet Candi and Tam…
Tell us about your journey, what sparked your passion for the health and wellness industry?
Nutri Hitt is a Brisbane based health food business dedicated to creating delicious treats which are both nutrient rich and packed full of flavour. Our focus is RAW, Vegan, Gluten, Dairy and Refined Sugar Free Treats. ‘Now you can have your cake and eat it too’. We (Candi & Tam) created Nutri Hitt in 2014 when we discovered over coffee after a training session that we shared a passion for health, fitness, positive lifestyle and a love for delicious food. We thought ‘why not’ if we never give it a shot we will never achieve anything. In that moment Nutri Hitt was born. With both of us still working full time jobs, there were definite times of struggle and questioning whether it was worth it, however we stuck with it, rode out the negative moments and are happy to say we both believe it has all been worth it! Together we create all the flavour combinations and recipes as well as make and deliver all Nutri Hitt Products personally. Nutri Hitt started out as a small market stall and has since grown into a wholesale business stocking Cafes and food vans around Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast areas. Our main aim is to spread the message that eating well doesn’t have to be boring; there is never a reason to deprive yourself of eating something tasty. Starting from scratch with no experience, no funding, no idea! We are proud to say Nutri Hitt has grown larger and faster than we could have imagined and we could not be more grateful. We recommend anyone who is hesitating on following a dream or a passion to just take a leap of faith and go for it!
What’s your number one wellness tip?
Balance! Eat well, Be active, Sleep enough, LAUGH! We believe the most important tip in looking after your health is to eat whole real foods, stay away from the processed foods as much as possible. Move your body in a way that you find challenging and fun. Get at least 7-8 hours’ sleep every night and most importantly… Do something every day that makes you smile!
What’s your one non-negotiable when it comes to your health?
LISTEN TO YOUR BODY..! In regards to food, training and emotions. No two people are exactly the same and only you will know what works for your body and what makes you feel good. So don’t restrict yourself, everything in moderation and allow yourself to have regular healthy treats. Take rest days when you feel you need them. Listen to how you are feeling, if you are feeling down maybe take some time to go and do something you enjoy, listen to your favourite song or go and hang out with a friend. Life should be fun so enjoy yourself, you are much more productive when you are happy.
What motto do you live by?
“What you think, you create. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you become.”
Basically you are in control of your life. Positive thoughts will attract positive circumstances and you will achieve whatever you truly believe.
What is your proudest achievement?
We would probably have to say that our proudest achievement so far has been the release of our first Ebook, “Fresh Raw Delight’s”. That was a huge deal for us and we were super excited to share our creations with everyone!
What are your goals for the future?
Our goals for the future are to continue to grow and reach more areas of Queensland and eventually spread around the country to Sydney and Melbourne etc. We also want to run cooking classes and release more books to teach people tips and tricks on how to make easy and affordable raw treats at home.
Tell us something not many people know about you?
Candi – Growing up from the time I could talk (which was quite early unfortunately for my parents) I always wanted to be a singer haha.
Tam – I always wanted to be a pastry chef, I used to bake for my family every week growing up.
