Belinda Anderson is a Certified Life Coach, Author, Speaker, Retreat Facilitator, Law of Attraction, Meditation and Pilates teacher, conscious parent and proud Mother. I discovered Belinda via her book, Living from the Inside Out, which I highly recommend you read. The thing that most draws me to Belinda is her belief that when you find peace within yourself, you can heal. She is living proof that physical health issues can be healed from the inside out by focusing on your emotional health. Meet Belinda…
Tell us about your journey, what sparked your passion for the health and wellness industry?
Holistic health, exercise, nutrition, positive thinking, personal development, natural and physical therapies, mind/body connection, The Law Of Attraction and spirituality have all entered my life at different stages. They have dramatically enhanced every aspect of my life, and today I embrace every one of them. They provide the formula for what makes me, ME.
It was my book, Living from the Inside Out that started this new journey for me! It was the stepping stone that launched me into unknown territory. It was nearly 3 years ago that I wrote it, but only 1 year ago that I released it…boy-oh-boy, has a lot happened since then! I have become a Life Coach, Speaker, and I hold Events and Retreats – I have created a life that I am passionate about and one that is aligned with my soul purpose.
What’s your number one wellness tip?
Happiness is an inside job? If you feel love and peace from the inside out, you will make wellness choices that contribute to your overall wellbeing. When your vibration is high, you consciously choose food, thoughts, people, circumstances that serve your highest good and steer away from the things that don’t.
How to raise your vibration? Do things that make you FEEL good!
What’s your one non-negotiable when it comes to your health?
Health can mean so many things to different people. Some see it as being fit. Some see it as being thin. Some see it as drinking green juices. Some see it as regular gym visits etc.
Personally, I feel to be whole and balanced, our mind, body, heart and soul need to work in harmony with one another. Taking care of them all equally is a powerful step towards overall wellbeing (fixing one and neglecting another will not lead to a truly happy, healthy and fulfilling life). So for me: movement (Yoga, Pilates), meditation (mind work) and feeding my soul with quality family time and doing things that I love is what works for me.
What motto do you live by?
Get the inside right and the outside will take care of itself. Understanding that your external world is a reflection of your internal world really allows you to see where internal changes need to be made.
What is your proudest achievement?
My two sons – they are the people who light up my life and inspire me to be all that I can be. I have them to thank for making me so much more than my former self.
What are your goals for the future?
The more study and research I have done, and personal experience I have had with meditation and personal development, the more I realise the significance of taking in the now by seizing the moment. By doing this, we relish and prosper in the present moment, rather than hovering and waiting around for the future to come and present us with our big master plan. Why do we need to sit back and wait for better days ahead – what’s wrong with today?
Goals are great to have, as they give us clarity and something to aim for; they keep us focused and on track, but is it really the goal we are chasing or a “feeling” of being happy, successful, loved, admired and noticed? I believe if we take care of the now by paying attention to the present moment, the goals and dreams we have for our future will naturally begin to unfold and appear.
Seize the moment and have gratitude for where you are now!
Tell us something not many people know about you?
I didn’t even know I could write, until I wrote and now I have a book, Living from the Inside Out that is being read by people all over the world! My message to you: pay attention to what life presents you with because you just never know where it may lead….listen, trust and follow.
Can you share with us one of your favourite recipes?
3/4 cup organic coconut oil
1 cup raw mixed nuts, chopped (macadamias, hazelnuts, brazil nuts, almonds, or cashews – choose as many as you like)
3 tablespoons cacao powder
1/2 cup organic sultanas (or a handful of chopped dates)
1/4 cup organic maple syrup or raw honey
A pinch of Himalayan salt
This recipe is so flexible you can add any type of dried fruits (figs, cranberries, blueberries, goji berries). Sunflower seeds, chia seeds, shredded coconut, puffed rice, almond or cacao butter, cinnamon and vanilla extract also make great additions. You can get as creative as you like.
Line a baking dish with non-stick paper (the size of your dish will depend on how thick you want your chocolate to be – the smaller the dish the thicker the chocolate). If the coconut oil is solid, melt it in a saucepan on a very low heat until it is just melted (don’t heat too much). Remove from the heat and add all of your ingredients and mix well. Pour the mixture into your dish, spreading evenly, and place into the freezer until set. Flip on to a chopping board and cut into bite-size pieces. Store in the refrigerator, unless you eat them all first!
