Alison Morgan is the founder of Relauncher. Relauncher is an Australian web destination that encompasses all areas of the expanding health, beauty and wellness industries. A place to come and shop for products and gifts, along with finding information to inspire and motivate you to live an authentic nourishing life. Meet Alison…
Tell us about your journey, what sparked your passion for the health and wellness industry?
It was a lifestyle choice as well as wanting to live my passion.
I decided before I had my children that I wanted to be around for them as much as I possibly could. I launched Relauncher in their first years of their schooling. It meant I could adjust my work around what’s going on in their lives, as well as be there for drop off and pick up.
Relauncher is a culmination of all my passions – health, wellbeing, beauty and lifestyle. A hub that people can come to relaunch their body, mind and soul. What a gig – it never feels like work!
What’s your number one wellness tip?
To live an authentic nourishing life. The key is a balanced approach.
Rather than forcing myself to do something, I listen to what I feel like and what my body needs.
Generally speaking though, I don’t eat sugar, gluten, grains or dairy. There are occasions when I relax on this, but 98% of the time this is the eating plan I follow. I haven’t made these decisions because of allergies, just purely because I feel much better when I eat this way.
I do a mixture of yoga, bike riding, running and incidental exercise like beach walks, running up and down the stairs in our house (there are 98 of them!), the list goes on….
What’s your one non-negotiable when it comes to your health?
My nutrition. I believe wellness starts with the food you fuel your body with. Eating non-processed foods, low sugar and cutting out gluten is what works for me.
What motto do you live by?
Take a balanced approach in everything.
What is your proudest achievement?
Setting up my own business. It was something I had always wanted to do, but I wasn’t sure what the business would be or how on earth I would make it happen. I’m really proud of what I’ve achieved with Relauncher.
Tell us something not many people know about you?
I used to play state netball for WA. I played both GK and GD – I’m sure that’s why my knees suffer today! I find it hard to get into some yoga poses because of the pains in my knees….
Can you share with us one of your favourite recipes?
Raw Jaffa Cake
2 cups activated almonds (soak almonds in water overnight)
3/4 cup dates
1/2 cup Loving Earth organic cacao powder
2 cups activated cashews
3/4 cup Loving Earth organic cacao powder
1 1/3 cup coconut cream
Orange zest from 1 orange
3/4 cup of freshly squeezed orange juice
Pinch of himalayan salt
To make the crust… Place all the ingredients in a powerful blender and chop until the mixture is fine. Press into a lined cake tin and place in the freezer for an hour (or even overnight if it suits you – although not required).
To make the filling… Grate the orange zest. Squeeze the orange juice. Place the dates and nuts into the blender and chop until the consistency is fine. Add the remaining ingredients and mix until the filling is well combined and quite a thick texture. When you are ready to serve, just place the topping on top of the crust. You can place this in the fridge or serve instantly. The choice is yours. Because the topping is very thick, it doesn’t require a setting time. Serve with berries, coconut or whatever you choose!
Notes: The orange ‘jaffa’ flavour depends greatly on the orange(s) you use. Taste the filling to make sure it has enough ‘jaffa’ flavour for you. If needed, add more orange zest and a bit more freshly squeezed orange juice. You may have some excess topping left over. This is also enjoyed in a cup – yum!
